	Ray Yeung		I work in the garment industry, and my job requires frequent business trips overseas. I used to feel uncomfortable speaking English and finally made up my mind to brush up my spoken English at Wall Street Institute through encouragement from my friends. Earlier in the course, I felt reluctant to join Social Clubs because I lacked confidence speaking English in public. Seeing fellow students improve their spoken English gradually made me want to be like them, and I decided to give it a try. At first, I only sat quietly in the corner during Social Clubs, but encouraged by the teachers and students I got used to speaking naturally in a Total English Environment. It’s been half a year since I started my studies at Wall Street, and I now feel more at ease and confident speaking English. My fluent English even impressed the clients during my recent business trip to the States!


	Yumiko		I relocated to Hong Kong last year because of my husband’s job. We lived in the US and Thailand before coming to Hong Kong. English was the common language we used, which made me realize that speaking fluent English could take us anywhere in the world. I enrolled in some traditional English language schools when I first arrived in Hong Kong. They only offered 3 hours of fixed classes every week, which was definitely not enough for me to practise my English. However, I was inspired by the trend of English study created by Wall Street Institute when I lived in Thailand, and therefore I made up my mind to resume my English studies at Wall Street Hong Kong. I try my best to stay at the centre for at least 4 hours a day, to make sure that I get exposed to Wall Street’s unique Total English Environment as much as possible. Meanwhile, I’ve been an active participant at Social Clubs and other activities. My English speaking and listening skills have improved tremendously in a year, and I’ve made a lot of friends from various backgrounds! Wall Street’s unique Total English Environment has been the key to my success, so I even apply it in my social life with my Japanese friends!


	Phoebe Leung		My dream is to travel all around the world, and speaking fluent English is like a passport that can take me wherever I want to go. About a year ago, I read some information about Wall Street Institute while browsing the Internet, so I decided to try out its new approach to English learning. I’ve come across some tedious English courses in the past, and most of them focus on intensive grammar training and memorizing vocabulary. However, learning English at Wall Street is an entirely different experience, because my English proficiency actually improved without me even noticing it! Instead of grammar drilling, teachers at Wall Street encourage us to participate in various activities where I can brush up my English usage through relaxing and fun conversations. With better English, I feel so much more confident when communicating in English at work and at other social occasions. Wall Street provides me with a platform to learn more about the world, and my horizons have been broadened by its unique and interesting Social Clubs!


	Jojo Man		The belief of “better English, better job” has always been my motivation for studying English. I’ve never given up on my English studies and have kept trying various methods such as traditional and online English courses. However, none has given satisfactory results. A friend of mine was enrolled at Wall Street Institute at the time, and recommended this more effective way of English learning to me. My favourite feature of Wall Street is its regular outdoor activities where I can meet students from different centres and share our learning experiences while encouraging each other. The Total English Environment has undoubtedly contributed to the continuous improvement of my English. Thanks to Wall Street, now I don’t have to rely on the Chinese subtitles when watching English movies. And guess what, sometimes I can even find errors in the translation!


	Miranda Liu		I’ve always been interested in English learning, and that’s why the name of “Wall Street Institute” immediately caught my attention when I came across its online game about English slang. I was very impressed by how they taught English in such an interesting way. It just so happened that some friends of mine used to study at Wall Street and they all gave me positive feedback about this innovative English course. As a result, I started my English course at Wall Street without any hesitation. Wall Street is well known for its various types of activities, and Social Club is my favourite among them all! All discussions are held in a fun and relaxing way, and I benefit greatly taking part in all the interesting topics. Besides improving my confidence in speaking English, Wall Street has even transformed me from an introvert to an extrovert! I now feel more comfortable at any social occasions, and I can even take the initiative to start a conversation when I see foreigners!


	Crystal Chan		About six months ago, an email I received from Wall Street Institute changed my life. I was attracted to its interesting and informative content and wanted to find out more about this special English teaching institute. Previously, I spent half a year studying English at a language school that used a traditional approach. My English proficiency did not improve much due to insufficient practice. In contrast, Wall Street provides me with unlimited opportunities and I can fully utilize the Total English Environment at Wall Street centres to speak English at all times. Wall Street has become a part of my life! All centres can be reached conveniently, and I can go to any centre to study at the Speaking Centre or join other activities. I still remember how embarrassed I used to be when I first joined Wall Street. With the kind help and encouragement of the teachers and personal tutors, my confidence built up gradually. Wall Street has enriched my life, and I can’t wait to share my success story with everybody!

“Now I can speak English more readily!”

I don’t have to communicate with English speaking people for my work very often so, gradually, I began to forget all the English I had learned before. My ability to understand and speak English deteriorated quickly. However, I decided to enrol in a WSI course so that I would be able to communicate with English speaking clients on design details. I was a bit worried before I decided to take the course because previously I had found studying English boring in school.

WSI’s teaching methods really made me change my point of view! The stories in the multimedia system are not only interesting but also improve my listening skills. I also participate in the Chat Café a lot and through the funny conversations with the teachers, I was able to improve my English speaking skills. Besides “how are you,” and “I am fine,” I now have a much wider vocabulary and can speak English more readily!”

“I have never ever thought that I could be so confident in speaking English!”

I used to be a shy person. Knowing that my English was not good, I always avoided meeting English speaking people so that I wouldn’t be embarrassed by my poor English. In order to overcome this, I decided to learn English in WSI. At the beginning of the lessons, I was still reluctant to speak in English, yet the staff members of WSI were very conscientious and they would say hello to me whenever they saw me. This made me more exposed to English speaking. Now, when I am in the class, I will actively look for teachers and students and speak English with them. I never ever thought that I could be so confident speaking English!

“It feels so good to be able to speak English fluently!”

I have always known that my English foundation was good and that I could handle grammar and vocabulary pretty well, but even though my knowledge of English was good, I never felt comfortable when it came to speaking it. When I saw WSI advertising that they could help people speak English with confidence, I applied for the courses to see whether or not it would help. Their teaching method was very distinctive from the others I’d seen. Not only don’t they use boring grammatical practice, they also encourage us to speak and listen more. Through activities such as the English Social Club and the encounter class, we are able to practice our spoken English much more often. Now I have a good English foundation and it feels so good to be able to speak English fluently!

I have always wanted to learn English but, for various reasons, I never got started. After choosing WSI to learn English, I realized how much the environment and fun course design suited me. If I were to choose my favourites among all the activities, I would choose the encounter class and Chat Café as I enjoy chatting with teachers and students very much. I even quit my job so that I could come to WSI to learn English everyday. I strongly believe that, when my overall English level has improved, I will definitely find a good job!

There are few opportunities to practice English in Japan but, as my job is in the air freight industry, I am eager to improve my English. So I came to WSI in Hong Kong to learn English. My sister lives in Hong Kong but she is very busy at work so I am alone most of the time. Luckily, I have been able to meet a lot of new friends who share the same goals as I do at WSI. As well as meeting up in the Social Club and encounter class, we often get together when we are not in school. This has been a great opportunity for me to practice English. Not only has my English level improved in WSI, I have also made a lot of new friends!

I am a fairly quiet person and I don’t have much confidence in speaking English. Consequently, I always seem passive on the occasions when I have to speak it. To improve my confidence in speaking English, I chose WSI. In class, I never miss an opportunity to talk to teachers and students in English. In WSI, there are a lot of opportunities to practice English, such as in the encounter class, English Social Club and Chat Café. The course materials and learning methods are interesting and new to me and have made me understand how much fun it can be to learn English!

“Foreign visitors are left with a good impression of my fluent English skills!”

As I work in the Hong Kong International Airport, I have to meet foreign visitors all the time. So you can imagine how important good English listening and speaking skills are for my work. I did not have proper English training when I was in school so my friends recommended WSI English courses to me so I might communicate better with foreign visitors at work. I soon realized that their course design really suits me. Participating in the fun encounter class and Social Clubs helps me to strengthen my English skills. Now, when I am communicating with foreign visitors, I’m confident that they are left with a good impression of my fluent English skills!

I studied English for over 10 years, focusing on grammatical exercises. The learning materials were not practical. Not only was I not interested in learning, I was unable to apply what I learned to everyday life.

However, what WSI offers is entirely different. The course materials are applicable to daily life and the learning method is very proactive and interesting. After class I enjoy going to the encounter class and English Social Club, not only because I want to have more opportunity to learn, but also because the content is very broad. Before taking the BULATS exam, I took a Social Club that shared examination skills. Combining what I have learned and the preparation in class, I was able to get 91/100 in the exam!

Whenever I have time, I like to travel to different countries. However, I was not able to visit a lot of places because of my limited English fluency. My English level was alright but I lacked the opportunity to practice English. WSI provides a platform for me to practice English. As I want to fulfill my dream of traveling to every part of the world, I always attend the Chat Café and the English Social Club. During these activities, we are able to discuss many different topics. Not only do I get to practice speaking English but I’m also able to widen my general knowledge. Now that my English is fluent, I am ready to travel around the world!

I am a music fanatic and operate a dancing school. I also like singing very much. Before learning English at WSI, I wasn’t able to fully appreciate English songs as I couldn’t understand or pronounce the words very well, which I always regretted. When I joined WSI, I was determined to speak English well through their learning method so that I could not only read English letters for work but also sing my favorite English songs. I used to be totally clueless about pronouncing words correctly before but, since I started participating in WSI’s English Social Clubs and the encounter class, I learned how to imitate teachers’ pronunciation and figure out the rules of pronunciation. I can now sing English songs like a professional!

“Speaking English with foreigners? I am confident!”

“In order to expand my business, I often have to liaise with English speaking people. In addition to dealing with emails each day, I also have to attend to technical exchanges, overseas conferences and talk with foreigners face to face. It used to be difficult for me as I have never learned English properly before.

“It was hard when I started learning English at WSI, as my English foundation was not very good. Luckily, WSI teachers not only coach me in English practice but also proactively monitor my learning and encourage me to attend WSI’s English Social Club and encounter class. After a while, my confidence in speaking English started to grow. Last year when I was attending a technical exchange conference, I even found the courage to volunteer to speak in English in front of hundreds of English-speaking people!”
